A few months ago, a friend asked if I could draw her those weird Alexander McQueen shoes that were worn by Lady Gaga in her Bad Romance video. Sure I could! I went right to work and …….well …….no I couldn’t! By the way, she likes pink and green!
I tried to draw the shoe and wasn’t feeling very inspired, and when I’m not that inspired it won’t work. So I began doodling in front of the television as I sometimes do and ended up with what looks like a cartoon alien wearing a the famous McQueen shoe – in pink and green.
Is he not cute or what? I call it, I’m Gaga Over Earth, because Earth seems to be the only place in the galaxy that creates this kind stuff for one’s feet. Nowhere else in the little alien’s travels has he found something so strange and unique. He’s taking a dozen pairs back home!
Then he started to like Earth and it made him forget all about the bad things he saw going on all over the planet. Then the little alien began to realize this was also a form of art and also understood why we create wacky things.
We can’t focus on the wars or the environment all the time, we can’t be serious all of the time and you should stop and have some fun. We need to have fun, we must act a little nuts, and we have to create things even though other people may think they are ridiculous. If we all liked the same thing we would all be so bored, bored, bored!
I suppose this little alien could be a she as it doesn’t seem to be a mammal which would require it to have breasts…..I’m just sayin. So maybe it’s a female and maybe it’s both?
All I used to do this was paint markers and an inexpensive canvas. It’s cartoonish pink and green and is easy to do. Also, inspiration is important in creating anything. If it’s not there don’t force it out, you won’t be that happy with it whether is a cartoon or a masterpiece.
