“Beauty is in the heart of the beholder.”
-H. G. Wells
This is a bit offbeat but thought I would share while we wait for the next air Plant idea from the Plant Man.
I call it “The Bee Hive” and it’s one of my weird pieces that grows up from trying to recycle things that have no other use or are headed to the trash.
The orchid box had seen better days and the Plant Man was throwing it away so I snagged it and unhinged one corner to make one long piece.
I used rusty wire toward the top as a way to hang it as well as be decorative …at least to my eye.
The bees are from some type of outdoor solar light that was broken. When working, the bees would be illuminated with an LED light at night but we snagged those before they hit the trash too.
Then there were some painted things from the garage that were an experiment from months ago but they seemed to fit The Bee Hive for some reason.
Everything was glued with the fantastic E6000.
“Artistic temperament sometimes seems a battleground,
a dark angel of destruction and a bright angel of creativity wrestling.”
-Madeleine L’Engle
We hung it up in our hallway by the front door because we love and prefer the unusual to the generic store bought photos, art and frames.
Don’t be afraid of what people will think of the weird stuff hanging on your walls. Be proud of your weirdness and display it wherever you see fit because beauty is in the eye, heart and the soul of the beholder.
“If you hear a voice within you say, You cannot paint,
then by all means paint, and that voice will be silenced”
–Vincent Van Gogh
Pictures sometimes don’t capture what I see and the ones posted here are no exception, but I guess they’ll do….
